18 months (Miss Independent)

Here we are at 18 months (yesterday) and Stella is all about "I do it!" Good thing 18 months is also pretty cute. At 18 months, you are. . .

 * Talking. A lot. At least 50 single words, some 2 word phrases (just the other day, "pears please") and longer sentences that make sense to you but we have no idea yet what you are saying.

* Wanting to dress yourself. And definitely not wanting any help. So that's a daily adventure. But you are also learning how to 'flip!' your coat on over your head and zip it up and down.

* Eating with a fork and learning how to drink from an open cup. Lots of 'uh ohs' when you spill it down your clothes.

* Telling us that you went "poo poo" and then refusing to have your diaper changed.

* Standing up in the car seat and refusing to sit down until you decide you are ready. (Also, taking your sweet time walking to the car when we leave daycare.)

* Looking out the window and getting excited every time you see bus. And then demanding more.

* Sitting on the big chair or couch and snuggling and letting us read longer picture books to you.

I love when Grandma is here to read to me!

* "Learning" your abc's - Mommy: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o Stella: p!

* "Learning" your colors at school. Everything is blue or purple, and occasionally yellow.

* Giving your doll and stuffed animals and cousin hugs and kisses.

* All things Elmo! I think we own every Elmo book out there. Except the one on the floor in the picture below. I managed to sneak that one back on the shelf.

* Being all around snuggly. And a little bit naughty. But mostly snuggly.

We love you so much!
